Rotary 5160 Youth Exchange (YEX)
It is not a vacation! Rotary Youth Exchange is a study-abroad opportunity for young people hosted by local Rotary clubs. The goal of the program is to promote the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace at the person to person level. During a long-term exchange, students spend a year (August – July) in another country, learning a new language and culture, while living with two to three host families and attending classes at a local school.
Places Rotary 5160 YEX Students Have Gone
Camp Venture is a five-day camp dedicated to training young entrepreneurs going into their senior year of high school. Throughout this motivational camp, students are exposed to experienced business people and get to learn what it takes to get a startup off the ground. Spots are limited to 40 locally-sponsored students in District 5160 and the camp takes place in June.
Camp Royal is a RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) camp that teaches students the true meaning of leadership. For almost 40 years, rising high school seniors have camped every June in the Trinity Mountains to embark on this week-long personal journey. Spots are limited to 140 students sponsored by their local Rotary clubs.
